Busybusy

Company’s doing overtime, I’m always working on two projects at once, considering an offer for a producer position on a reality show coming to Chicago, I still haven’t finished my Halloween costume and I’m leaving for New Orleans the day after tomorrow, started a sound thingy I really care about but had to put it down for a day and now I have no idea how to pick it up again…

I still feel bad about not posting more, though.

Watched most of Coppola’s Dracula last night and I was not prepared for Keanu Reeves’s acting. Totally lost it every time he came onscreen. Gary Oldman is delicious and creepy, Winona Ryder is also delicious but ungodly annoying when she speaks. I wish there was a Dracula Rifftrax. It’d be filled with “whoah, dude, bummer”s. What a hammy movie.

Tonight will be about working on my costume and maaaybe watching The Craft or somethin’.

What’s your favorite Halloween movie?

Filmme Fatale and Matte Painting have been featured on the Tumblr Spotlight in the Film section!I know I’ve been super-absent lately (the Company’s been super-busy with our debut live event and I’ve been swamped trying to keep ahead of and schedule production), so I’m going to be unearthing entries from my archive for the time being. I promise I’ll be back soon!

Hey everyone - this is what I’ve spent the past year busting my ass on. As we near our launch date (April 15th), we’ve started to reach out and plug ourselves a bit via social networking sites and blogs. It would mean a ton to me if you even just checked out our FaceBook page, especially if you know a middle schooler who’d be interested in this. It may look modest now, but I’m fairly confident MashPlant.com’s gonna be big and I couldn’t be more excited!

Today’s been such a busy day!

I’m videotaping interviews to test the format and get myself back in the habit of editing segments; while I’m not at full liberty yet to disclose what these interviews are for, I’m super-proud to say that I’m part of an extremely exciting project. We’re just really getting into production, and I’m a one-girl crew. It’s fun! And tiring.

Lots of driving today. I can’t find my tripod for the life of me, which is a stupid big deal, so I’m gonna haveta tear my shit apart to find it after this very short test-phase.

Jesus.

And this weekend’s all about the rough cuts so they’re ready before I leave for Atlanta Tuesday morning, then experimenting and refining over the 8 days I’m gone, then coming home and going into super-production. I might need someone to help me. I might need an adult.

This stuff’s scary! I haven’t directed anything in a year! I’m terribly nervous, and while I know there is no way I can fail-fail, I can most definitely be mediocre, and I’d consider mediocrity to be worse than total failure.
Of course I’m freaking myself out. Of course this is a learning experience. I just don’t like the process of getting to be good at this; I’d rather be good at this now.

Gotta leave soon for my 3/3 interview. More driving? Ugh.
